Ekiti APC Denies Report on Oyebanji’s Health, Demands Retraction
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has dismissed a report concerning the health and status of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, describing the publication as false and malicious.
The party, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, on Thursday, said the report being circulated about the governor contained no factual basis and should be disregarded by members of the public.
The APC accused those behind the publication of attempting to mislead residents and create unnecessary concern over the governor’s condition.
According to the party, Oyebanji is hale and hearty and remains focused on the affairs of the state.
The party also demanded an immediate retraction of the publication, describing it as inconsistent with responsible journalism.
The APC urged residents of Ekiti State to remain calm and disregard what it described as false information about the governor.
Oyebanji had resumed official duties on September 7 after a two-week annual leave. During his first day back, he inspected several ongoing projects across the state, including facilities at the Ekiti Agro-Allied Airport, an 80-bed medical facility at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital and the new Ekiti State High Court Complex.
The governor was also declared winner of the June 20, 2026 Ekiti governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), after polling 319,224 votes.
The APC said Oyebanji remains committed to his administration and is expected to begin his second term on October 16, 2026.
Dipe reaffirmed the party’s support for the governor and called on Ekiti residents to ignore what the party described as misinformation.
