In an effort to swiftly address the longstanding transportation difficulties faced by students and general commuters in Ikere and to build upon the existing efforts initiated by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, the Executive Chairman of Ikere Local Government, Hon. (Sqn Ldr Rtd) Olu Egbejoda Adamolekun, in collaboration with his esteemed Ikere West LCDA counterpart, Hon. Rufus Olorunfemi, is set to launch a new tricycle service to bolster Ikere’s transportation network.
The inauguration of the tricycle service, also known as ‘Keke Napep,’ will be conducted by Chairman Adamolekun at the Ikere Main Roundabout on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 7:30 AM. The event is expected to be attended by the Ekiti State Chairman of the Keke Napep Union and his executives.
The tricycle service, once launched, will commence operations on the same day, Monday, April 22, 2024, initially serving the BOUESTI/University Road route. Plans to extend the service to cover additional roads throughout the nooks and crannies of Ikere are ongoing.
Chairman Olu Adamolekun commends HRM Oba Samuel Adejimi Adu Alagbado Agirilala II, the Ogoga of Ikere Kingdom, and Engr. Emmanuel Ogunremi for their initiative and efforts towards achieving this milestone.
