A media advocate within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Mr Tosin Ajayi a.k.a Tosin OSHOKO has come down hard on party leaders who, according to him, continue to sabotage the PDP from within.
In a strongly worded statement, Ajayi accused some PDP governors and chieftains of covertly working for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, despite their public affiliations with the opposition.
He specifically pointed fingers at Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, who he claims has yet to apologize or be held accountable for openly backing the All Progressives Congress (APC) during and after the 2023 elections. “It’s shameful that someone like Makinde, who worked for APC, is still parading himself as the so-called PDP leader in the South-West. This is part of why the party is struggling to regain its respect,” Ajayi said.
Ajayi lamented the state of PDP in the South-West, highlighting that most APC-dominated states in the region still lack any viable opposition presence, even after major electoral losses. “Look at Ekiti, the 2026 governorship election is fast approaching, yet there’s no visible structure or seriousness from the party. How do we expect to win elections without putting our house in order?” he questioned.
He also alleged that some PDP figures in Ekiti are secretly supporting Governor Oyebanji of the APC, further weakening the party’s chances. “This sabotage is happening in plain sight, and the National leadership of the PDP has done nothing,” he warned.
Ajayi’s statements underscore growing frustration among grassroots loyalists who believe the PDP must urgently reform and take decisive action against internal betrayal if it hopes to remain relevant in the South-West.
