The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a constable serving in Taraba State for stealing a goat.
The officer, identified as PC Usman Mohammed, was attached to the Mutum Biyu Division under the Taraba State Command. His dismissal followed due disciplinary procedures in line with the Police Act and Regulation 370, Cap 389 of the 2010 Laws of the Federation, as amended.
According to an official signal from the Commissioner of Police, DFA Jalingo, addressed to the Divisional Police Officer in Mutum Biyu, Mohammed’s offence falls under paragraph ‘E’ of the First Schedule of the Police Act, which prescribes termination for such misconduct.
Police authorities have directed that all official items issued to the dismissed officer, including his police identification card, be retrieved. His salary will also be stopped, and his service records updated to reflect the dismissal.
The action underscores the Force’s stated commitment to discipline, professionalism, and zero tolerance for misconduct among its ranks.
