Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of Dr. Olubamise Olufemi Moses as the new Provost of the State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti.
Dr. Olubamise’s appointment, which takes effect on October 2, 2025, follows a rigorous selection process conducted by the Governing Council of the institution. He succeeds Dr. (Mrs) C.O. Adebayo, whose tenure as Provost ends on September 30.
In the same development, the Governor also approved the appointments of three other principal officers of the college based on the recommendations of the Governing Council. They include:
- Mr. Ayodeji Sunday Emmanuel – Registrar
- Mr. Dada Olaniyi Kolade – Bursar
- Mr. Folorunso Femi Joseph – Librarian
Born on December 2, 1975, in Ijan-Ekiti, Dr. Olubamise holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Human Physiology from the University of Ilorin (2001). He later earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in 2012, a Master of Science in Health Education (2017), and a Ph.D. in Health Education (2023), all from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. He is also a Fellow of the College of Biomedical Engineering.
Dr. Olubamise began his career at the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, in 2006 as a Scientific Officer/Tutor. He rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer in 2024 and was, until his appointment as Provost, the Director of ICT at the institution.
He has participated in several local and international conferences, contributing to academic and community development. He is married to Dr. (Mrs) Deborah Olubamise, and their union is blessed with children.
Governor Oyebanji congratulated the newly appointed Provost and principal officers, urging them to collaborate with stakeholders in transforming the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti into a world-class institution.
