The Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCIFB) has released a significant update regarding its ongoing recruitment exercise, directing all shortlisted applicants to take urgent note of newly approved timelines and procedures. The announcement was contained in an official circular signed by the Secretary to the Board, AM Jibril, Maj. Gen. (Rtd.), and dated November 4, 2025.
According to the statement, the recruitment portal will officially close on Friday, November 7, 2025, and all candidates who have been shortlisted for the next stage are advised to proceed to recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng to confirm their current application status before the deadline.
The Board further disclosed that the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for shortlisted applicants will now be conducted exclusively online, marking a departure from the earlier plan to use designated computer-based testing centers across the country. The online assessment is scheduled to run from Wednesday, November 12, 2025, to Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Candidates who had previously chosen a physical CBT center are now required to log in to the portal and select a new online test date and time, in line with the revised examination process. The access link for the online test is expected to be released on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
The CDCIFB emphasized the need for applicants to be adequately prepared for the online assessment, advising them to ensure they have a stable internet connection, a fully functional laptop or mobile device, and the ability to comply strictly with all examination instructions provided on their exam slip.
“The Board wishes to assure the general public that it remains committed to a smooth, transparent, and credible recruitment process,” the statement reads.
The new directive is expected to streamline the recruitment procedure and reduce logistics and physical examination challenges previously associated with nationwide CBT center coordination.
Applicants are strongly advised to monitor the official recruitment portal regularly to avoid missing crucial updates.
