The Federal Government has officially declared Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration. This announcement was made by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, on behalf of the federal government in Abuja on Sunday.
In a congratulatory message issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Aishetu Gogo-Ndayako, the minister extends his congratulations to all Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the fasting period in the holy month of Ramadan.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urges the Muslim Ummah to embrace and embody the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, which were exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
Furthermore, the minister calls upon all Nigerians to foster unity and work together towards achieving peace and harmony in the country.
“The Minister sends his heartfelt wishes to the Muslim Ummah for a joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration and prays that the peace, blessings, and favor of Allah be bestowed upon everyone and our Great Nation.”
