The Ekiti State House of Assembly will officially begin its annual recess on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
Announcing the break in a statement, the Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Babatunde Oke, said the date for resumption would be communicated by the Speaker in due course.
According to Oke, the recess is not merely a pause in legislative activities but an opportunity for lawmakers to reconnect with their constituencies, listen to the concerns of residents, and work on resolving local challenges in line with their mandate.
“The break will enable Honourable Members to return to their various constituencies, engage with constituents, and address pressing issues at the grassroots,” the statement read in part.
The Assembly expressed appreciation to the people of Ekiti State for their continuous trust and support, assuring that the lawmakers remain committed to effective lawmaking, quality representation, and impactful service delivery.
The recess, a regular feature of the legislative calendar, also allows members to evaluate the progress of bills, motions, and other parliamentary business, while preparing for the next legislative phase.
