The Ekiti State House of Assembly has announced the appointment of Barr. Opeyemi Hezekiah Ajibola as the new Acting Clerk of the Assembly, effective June 1, 2024.
The appointment was made by the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, who expressed confidence in Ajibola’s ability to provide the necessary leadership and guidance to the House during this transition period.
Barr. Ajibola, who hails from Otun Ekiti in Moba Local Government, will succeed the outgoing Clerk, Mr. Tola Esan. Prior to his new role, Ajibola served as the Deputy Clerk Legal.
Speaking on the appointment, Speaker Aribasoye highlighted Ajibola’s wealth of experience and dedication to legislative duties, which make him the ideal candidate for the position.
Ajibola joined the legislative service in October 2011 as a Senior Legislative Counsel in the Legislative Drafting and Legal Services Department of the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
In his new role as Acting Clerk, Ajibola will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Assembly and ensuring the smooth running of legislative activities.
