The Ekiti State Police Command has announced the commencement of a comprehensive training and reorientation program for its officers and men across the state.
According to the press release, the training initiative is in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, and aims to ensure effective service delivery to the Nigerian populace.
The training, which will be conducted in batches, will cover a wide range of topics, including professionalism, police duties, the Police Act and Regulations, the Criminal Code, musketry, riot drill and foot drill, use of firearms, human rights, and social media policy.
The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, mni, emphasized the importance of professionalism and a better policing system. He urged the trainees to make the most of this opportunity to arm themselves with the basics of policing and become better officers.
The training and reorientation exercise will be conducted periodically to remind the personnel of the basic police knowledge and skills acquired during their training and to expose them to modern-day policing strategies. The program will also focus on crime prevention, the protection of lives and properties, and better relationships with the public.
The Ekiti State Police Command’s initiative is a significant step towards enhancing the professionalism and performance of its personnel, with the ultimate goal of providing improved security and public service to the people of Ekiti State.
