The Federal Ministry of Education has officially announced the launch of the Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF), a new initiative aimed at providing targeted assistance to staff members of tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The programme, which is now live and open for applications, is designed to enhance the welfare, capacity, and overall productivity of academic and non-academic staff in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education nationwide.
According to the Ministry, the fund underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector by prioritizing the well-being of those who drive knowledge delivery and innovation.
Interested applicants can now submit their applications through the official portal at https://tissf.education.gov.ng. The online process has been streamlined to ensure easy accessibility for eligible staff members regardless of their location. Officials have emphasised that the fund will be disbursed in a transparent and accountable manner, with clear guidelines to ensure that only qualified applicants benefit.
The Ministry also reiterated that this initiative is part of a broader policy direction aimed at improving human capital development in the education sector, thereby contributing to national growth and socio-economic stability.
To mark the official commencement of the programme, a virtual launch event will be held on Thursday, 14th August 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM via Microsoft Teams. Stakeholders, education administrators, and potential beneficiaries are encouraged to join the session using the meeting ID 266 036 698 568 3 and passcode Cb6mc38g.
The launch event will provide detailed information about the application process, eligibility criteria, disbursement structure, and expected impact on the tertiary education workforce.
The Federal Ministry of Education has called on all stakeholders to support the programme, stressing that no one should be left behind in the drive to elevate the nation’s education standards.
