The Chairman, House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Aderemi Oseni, has commiserated with former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, following the passing of his father, Pa Amos Adetunji Akande.
Pa Akande, a respected patriarch, grandfather, and community leader, died on Tuesday at the age of 90. His demise has been described as a great loss to his immediate family as well as the entire Itesiwaju community in Oyo State.
In a condolence message issued through his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, Hon. Oseni extolled the virtues of the late nonagenarian, describing him as a man of faith, discipline, and service, whose positive influence extended to everyone around him.
“On behalf of the people of Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, I express my deepest condolences to Prof. Adeolu Akande and the entire Akande family. Baba Amos Adetunji Akande lived a full life, leaving behind enduring legacies that will inspire generations,” the lawmaker stated.
He further encouraged the family to take solace in the values and teachings Pa Akande instilled during his lifetime, noting that though his physical presence will be missed, his wisdom, humility, and guidance will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, and community members.
Hon. Oseni also prayed that God grants the Akande family the strength to bear the irreparable loss, while ensuring that the soul of the departed rests in eternal peace.
Highlighting the accomplishments of Prof. Adeolu Akande, the lawmaker noted that they serve as a reflection of the late Pa Akande’s mentorship and upbringing, which instilled in his children the principles of service, integrity, and excellence.
“May the soul of Pa Amos Adetunji Akande find everlasting peace. We pray that his family and community are comforted during this difficult period, and that his legacy of leadership, faith, and humility lives on,” Oseni concluded.
