Reaffirms Loyalty to Party Leadership and Internal Resolution Process
The Campaign Organization of Dr. Prince Funso Ayeni has dismissed as false and malicious a statement circulating on social media linking him to comments regarding the internal affairs of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the purported suspension of the National Organising Secretary.
In a clarification issued in Ado-Ekiti, the Campaign Organization described the publication as entirely fabricated, noting that those behind it are individuals unsettled by the growing acceptance of Dr. Ayeni across the PDP structure in Ekiti State.
“Not a single line in the circulating statement originated from Dr. Ayeni or his campaign. It is a calculated move by desperate actors who feel threatened by the goodwill, loyalty and grassroots support he enjoys,” the statement said.
The Campaign Organization emphasized that Dr. Ayeni has been one of the most consistent, dependable and selfless supporters of the PDP, not only in Ekiti State but across Nigeria. His contributions, they noted, include years of financial support for party activities, intervention during critical moments of party restructuring, and unwavering commitment during difficult electoral cycles.
“At times when many distanced themselves, it was Dr. Ayeni who invested, mobilized, and supported the party. His record is known and verifiable. Those now sponsoring falsehood were nowhere to be found when the PDP most needed steady hands,” the statement added.
Addressing the tension surrounding the PDP National Working Committee, the Organization clarified that the matter is an internal issue of the party:
“The disagreement within the NWC is a family matter. The PDP has its own established conflict resolution mechanisms, and these will be applied accordingly. Dr. Ayeni is not involved and will not be dragged into issues he has no hand in.”
The Campaign Organization reiterated that Dr. Ayeni’s political strength emerges from years of consistency, loyalty and grassroots engagement, not from propaganda or last-minute popularity claims.
“The overwhelming support he enjoys today is simply a reflection of work done, sacrifices made, and people touched. Leadership is earned, not manufactured.”
The statement concluded with a message to party faithful:
“We urge PDP members and the general public to disregard the fake statement. Let us stay focused on unity, internal stability, and preparation for the task ahead. Ekiti deserves responsible leadership rooted in service, loyalty and integrity — which Dr. Ayeni represents.”
