The facility, which was once a neglected and crime-prone hideout for hoodlums, now stands as a bold testament to Governor Oyebanji’s zero-tolerance policy for infrastructural waste and his commitment to economic revitalization through productive public-private partnerships. The governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to unlock the state’s economic potential by prioritizing the rehabilitation of abandoned public assets and creating new opportunities for business growth.
The market boasts over 170 modern shops, its own dedicated 300KVA transformer for stable power supply, a cafeteria, a fully equipped Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) security post, modern toilet facilities, and ample parking space for traders and customers. The facility is expected to not only enhance commercial activities in the area but also improve security and the general aesthetics of Poly Road and its environs.
Governor Oyebanji noted that the new market aligns with his broader vision of creating a conducive business environment and driving prosperity for all residents of Ekiti State. He called on private investors and the business community to take advantage of the new infrastructure, adding that Ekiti remains open for business and investment.
With this commissioning, the Ekiti State government continues to demonstrate its determination to reposition the state as a viable destination for commerce, enterprise, and sustainable development.
