Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has emphasized the importance of youths embracing agribusiness as a means to achieve self-reliance in food production and contribute to economic development. He believes that agriculture offers a viable solution to the country’s economic challenges.
Speaking at the launch of a four-day training and empowerment program for youth in agribusiness in Ado-Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji highlighted the program as a sustainable alternative to providing continuous palliatives to citizens.
The governor described the program as a Public-Private Partnership initiative with YSJ Limited, designed to address youth unemployment. It aligns with his campaign promise to create pathways and opportunities for young people to thrive.
The training program has attracted the participation of 400 youths from the 16 local government areas of the state. Through this initiative, the governor aims to equip the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the agricultural sector. By encouraging young people to embrace agribusiness, Governor Oyebanji envisions a future where they can contribute to food security and economic prosperity in the state.
