According to a report by The Nation, Davido, the Grammy-nominated singer also known as David Adeleke, has made a bold claim asserting himself as the greatest of all time (GOAT) in the Nigerian music industry. The comparison between Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid, often referred to as the ‘big three’ of Afrobeat music, has been downplayed by Davido.
In a TikTok video shared by Shopsydoo, a British-Nigerian content creator, Davido confidently proclaimed his status as the sole “GOAT” in Nigeria. He stated, “There is only one GOAT in my country, and it’s me.”
During a recent appearance on the American show Sway’s Universe, Davido expressed his belief that contrary to popular assumptions, he is the sole prominent Afrobeats artist, distancing himself from the notion that he, Wizkid, and Burna Boy collectively hold that position.
