INEC Opens Ad Hoc Staff Recruitment Portal for Edo and Ondo Governorship Elections

In preparation for the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unveiled a recruitment portal for ad hoc staff.

The elections in Edo and Ondo are scheduled for September 21 and November 16, respectively. INEC is seeking to hire various categories of ad hoc election officials, including supervisory presiding officers (SPOs), presiding officers (POs), assistant presiding officers (APOs), RAC managers, and registration area technicians (RATECHs).

INEC announced that the application portal will be open from July 15 to August 19 at 12am. Interested candidates can apply through the web version at pres.inecnigeria.org or the Android mobile app at inecpres-app.com.

The commission emphasized that applicants must not be members of any political party and must not have demonstrated support for any candidate or party. Additionally, RATECHs are required to reside in the state where they will be deployed, while other ad hoc staff can be deployed to any polling unit within the state.

This recruitment drive is a crucial step in INEC’s preparations to conduct free, fair, and credible elections in Edo and Ondo states. The ad hoc staff play a vital role in the electoral process, from setting up polling units to collating and transmitting results.
