Meet Olumide Paul Akomolafe: Journalist, Media Entrepreneur, and Founder of Solidstar Newspapers

Olumide Paul Akomolafe is a Nigerian journalist, media entrepreneur, and public relations professional with a rich background in news reporting, media management, and political communication. He is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Solid-stars Newspapers www.solidstarnews.com , a popular digital news platform known for its bold, people-focused journalism and political analysis.

Born in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State, Olumide is a proud indigene of Ikere Local Government Area, Ekiti South Senatorial District. His journey in the media space began as a News Reporter and Editor at Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Abeokuta, where he developed a passion for grassroots journalism and public-interest reporting.

He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mass Communication from Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Ekiti State University. Over the years, Olumide has built a reputation for his incisive political commentary, crisis communication strategy, and media relations expertise.

As a published researcher, his works include studies on political public relations tools in Nigeria, notably his widely referenced dissertation “Trader Moni as a Political Public Relations Tool: An Assessment of the Perception of Traders at Bodija International Market, Ibadan”. He also contributes to national discourses through platforms like Nigerian Tribune and Academia.edu.

Olumide is a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). Beyond journalism, he serves as a member of Staff at Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, where he continues to shape academic and administrative conversations.

An advocate for national development and inclusive governance, Olumide Paul Akomolafe participated in the International Youth Conference in New York (Virtual, 2024) and other leadership workshops. His interests span politics, media policy, nation-building, and youth empowerment.
