In a distressing case, Alhaji Mashood from Olorunsogo area, Bode Saadu, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State, has been brought before the Upper Area Court in his town by his daughter, Simbiat Moshood, who accuses him of engaging in sexual intercourse with her.
Simbiat alleges that her father has repeatedly engaged in this act and has threatened to harm or kill her if she were to disclose it to anyone.
Simbiat’s complaint reveals that her father’s inappropriate behavior has become a regular occurrence, which has caused her mother to refuse to return home after their divorce.
The complaint also mentions an incident where Alhaji Mashood’s second wife caught them in the act, resulting in mockery and false accusations of ritualistic activities.
During the court proceedings, Barrister Toyin Onaolapo, the legal representative for the accused, requested bail for his client.
After considering the arguments presented, Magistrate Abdul Yekeen granted bail to Alhaji Mashood. The case has been adjourned until April 15, 2024, for further proceedings.
