The Federal Government has announced the immediate commencement of N-Power stipend payments following the approval and anticipated implementation of the 2025 Federal Budget. This development was contained in an internal memorandum issued on October 22, 2025, by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
According to the memo, all departmental directors and programme coordinators under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) have been directed to activate preparatory processes to ensure a smooth rollout. The ministry disclosed that payments will begin as soon as funds are released by the Federal Ministry of Finance.
The directive is part of renewed efforts by the Honourable Minister to reposition the NSIP structure for greater transparency, accountability, and efficiency. Consequently, departments have been instructed to update and verify beneficiary data, harmonize payment schedules, and validate all outstanding records before disbursement begins.
The memo further emphasized that all directorates must work closely with the NSIP Accounts Unit and the Directorate of Finance and Administration to confirm readiness for payment, ensuring that every step of the process meets required financial and administrative standards.
Beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme have also been urged to remain patient as the ministry finalizes the necessary procedures. The government assured that the ultimate goal is to prevent errors, close loopholes, and deliver a transparent payment system that will restore confidence in the programme.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to poverty alleviation and human capital development, describing N-Power as a critical tool in empowering Nigerian youths, enhancing job skills, and reducing economic vulnerability across the country. All concerned officers have been charged to treat the directive with urgency and ensure full compliance.
The N-Power programme, one of the major components of the NSIP, was created to tackle youth unemployment and promote social development. The resumption of stipend payments is expected to bring relief to thousands of beneficiaries who have awaited official communication in recent months.
