The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has urged Nigerians to be mindful of their power consumption and avoid unnecessary wastage. Speaking at a press briefing, Adelabu highlighted the absence of effective consumption management in the country.
Adelabu noted that citizens in other countries exhibit better electricity management practices, whereas in Nigeria, electricity is often misused.
He expressed concern over instances where individuals leave their air-conditioners and freezers running for extended periods, even when not in use, due to the relatively low cost of electricity.
The Minister’s message emphasized the need for Nigerians to adopt responsible energy usage habits and conserve power wherever possible.
