Police Arrest Soldier In Lagos Over Alleged Impersonation

In Lagos, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have taken into custody a man named Femi Balogun, who was allegedly masquerading as a Sergeant Major in the Nigerian Army.

The arrest of the suspect took place in the Ijegun community, known for criminal activities including pipeline vandalism.

Police officers from the Isheri-Osun Police Division apprehended Balogun during a visibility patrol in Fagbile Estate at around 3 pm on Saturday. Balogun, who had been wanted by the Nigerian Army, was identified as an imposter following an interrogation conducted by the military.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the State Command Police, confirmed the arrest and stated that once the investigation is concluded, the suspect will be charged in court.
