A prominent member and vocal apologist of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Akeem Olaniyi Adebomojo, has officially resigned his membership from the party.
In a letter dated 19th July 2025 and addressed to the Chairman of Igede Ward 2, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, Adebomojo expressed his decision to step away from the PDP, referring to it now as “your party” rather than “our party.”
The brief but striking letter read in part:
“Refers!
Before: Our Party
Now: Your Party
Thanks for your understanding, best regards.”
Adebomojo, well-known for his strong media presence and unwavering defense of the PDP in Ekiti political circles, did not state the reasons behind his resignation. However, his exit has stirred speculation about a possible alignment with another political platform ahead of the 2026 elections in Ekiti State.
Political observers consider Adebomojo’s departure a notable loss to the PDP, especially in Igede-Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun LGA, where he has played an influential role in mobilization and grassroots engagement.
As of the time of this report, Adebomojo has not declared his next political move or affiliation.
