President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Didi Walson-Jack as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Council Chamber of the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja on Monday.
Walson-Jack succeeds Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, who served as the substantive Head of Service from March 4, 2020, until August 12, 2024. Her appointment was approved by President Tinubu on July 17.
During the ceremony, President Tinubu urged Walson-Jack to bring her wealth of experience to bear in her new role, saying: “You’re stepping into very big shoes, and we pray that God continues to guide you, provide you with wisdom and enhance your integrity to serve this country and the civil service in the most successful way.”
Walson-Jack’s appointment has been widely welcomed by stakeholders, who praised her extensive experience in the civil service and her commitment to reform.
As the new Head of Civil Service, Walson-Jack is expected to play a key role in driving President Tinubu’s agenda for civil service reform and ensuring the effective implementation of government policies.
The ceremony was attended by top government officials, including ministers, permanent secretaries, and other senior civil servants.
