The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed (FNSE), has applauded the outstanding leadership qualities of the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, following his swift and accountable handling of a technical glitch during the recently concluded 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement issued on Thursday by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday Adepoju (anipr), the Rector praised Prof. Oloyede’s courage and integrity in addressing the incident. He noted that the Registrar’s prompt response demonstrated an unwavering commitment to upholding the credibility of Nigeria’s educational system.
“Prof. Oloyede’s readiness to accept responsibility and resolve the issue head-on reflects the calibre of leadership our institutions need,” Dr. Abdul-Hameed remarked. “He continues to set a remarkable example of transparency and accountability that inspires confidence among candidates, parents, and stakeholders in the education sector.”
The Rector further highlighted Prof. Oloyede’s history of transformative leadership, recalling his impactful tenure as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, where he championed inclusivity and drove notable improvements in academic standards and infrastructure. “His administration expanded access to education and enhanced the university’s reputation as a forward-thinking institution,” Dr. Abdul-Hameed added.
Since taking the helm at JAMB, Prof. Oloyede has introduced far-reaching reforms aimed at modernizing the nation’s examination system. Innovations like the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format have improved the integrity and efficiency of the UTME process.
