The latest meeting of the tripartite committee to finalize the new national minimum wage

On Friday, the tripartite committee tasked with determining the new national minimum wage convened at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja for their fifth meeting since organized labor unions suspended their strike.

The objective of this committee is to reach a consensus on the proposed wage amount that will then be presented to the National Assembly for approval.

– Director General of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum

– Minister of Labour and Employment (State) – Nkiruka Onyejeocha

– Imo State Governor – Hope Uzodimma

– Representative from the Salaries, Income and Wages Commission

– Finance Minister – Wale Edun

– Budget and National Planning Minister – Atiku Bagudu

The tripartite committee, comprising government, labor unions, and employers, is working to find a mutually agreeable minimum wage that balances the needs of workers with the economic realities facing the country.
