NAQS Begins 2026 Recruitment, Opens Vacancies for Graduates, OND, NCE and SSCE Holders

The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) has announced the commencement of its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for vacancies across its Superintendent, Inspectorate and Assistant cadres.

According to an official recruitment advertisement released by the agency, applications opened on July 28, 2026, and will close on August 10, 2026. The recruitment exercise is free of charge, and all applications must be submitted online through the agency’s recruitment portal.

The vacancies cover several categories, including the Chief Superintendent of Quarantine Cadre (CSQ) for veterinary doctors, Deputy Superintendent of Quarantine (DSQ) for law graduates, Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II (ASQ II) for degree holders, Inspector of Quarantine (IA I–III) for OND and NCE holders, and Quarantine Assistant (QA I–III) for candidates with SSCE, NECO or GCE qualifications.

For the Superintendent Cadre, applicants are expected to possess a relevant first degree from a recognised higher institution, while Inspectorate Cadre applicants must hold OND or NCE certificates. Candidates applying for the Assistant Cadre are required to have at least five credits in SSCE, NECO or GCE O’Level, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

The agency also outlined statutory requirements for applicants. Candidates must be Nigerian by birth, possess a valid National Identity Number (NIN), be medically fit, present a medical fitness certificate from a government hospital, pass a drug test and have good character with no criminal record or involvement in secret cults. Applicants must also be free from financial embarrassment.

In addition, the recruitment notice specified minimum height requirements of 1.65 metres for men and 1.55 metres for women, while male applicants must have a chest measurement of at least 0.87 metres. Candidates are also expected to be computer literate.

NAQS stated that applicants with certain physical conditions, including severe speech impairment, hearing impairment, total blindness, limb deformities, amputations, obesity and other physical challenges, should not apply because of the rigorous physical activities involved in the recruitment process. Pregnant women were also advised not to apply.

The agency disclosed that shortlisted candidates will undergo a Computer-Based Test (CBT), with successful applicants to be notified of the examination date and venue.

According to the recruitment timetable, shortlisting of successful candidates will take place on August 13, 2026, while CBT screening and interviews are scheduled for August 15, 2026.

NAQS urged interested applicants to complete their registration before the deadline, stressing that the application is entirely free and warning Nigerians to avoid individuals or groups demanding payment for recruitment opportunities.
