The Federal Government has appointed former Kogi Central Senator, Yakubu Oseni, as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the newly established Federal University of Agriculture and Technology (FUAT), Okeho, Oyo State.
The appointment, announced on Wednesday, is part of the government’s move to strengthen leadership and governance structures in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
Senator Oseni, who represented Kogi Central Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly, is expected to bring his wealth of legislative and administrative experience to the development of the young institution.
The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho, is among the new universities established to expand access to quality tertiary education and promote innovation in the agricultural and technological sectors.
With his new role, Senator Oseni will lead the Governing Council in formulating policies, providing oversight, and driving the vision of the university in line with the Federal Government’s agenda for education and national development.
