The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Stanley Okoro Emegha, has issued a stern directive to all party members eyeing elective positions in the 2027 general elections.
In a move aimed at strengthening party internal discipline, Emegha stated that all aspirants must obtain formal clearance from Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru before purchasing their nomination forms.
Speaking on Monday in Afikpo during the inauguration of the Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone chapter of the Grassroots Advocacy for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru (GATFON), Emegha warned that the party would not tolerate any deviation from this protocol. He emphasized that the directive is designed to ensure orderliness and alignment with the state’s leadership vision.
The Chairman further cautioned aspirants against the financial risks of bypassing this process. He noted that payments for nomination forms are strictly non-refundable and made it clear that the party would refuse to entertain any complaints or grievances from individuals who purchase forms without the Governor’s prior approval. “Anything outside this directive is a waste of resources,” Emegha asserted, urging members to avoid the distractions of social media pressure and premature endorsements.
The event also served as a platform for GATFON to begin its mobilization efforts. The State Coordinator, Patrick Anayo Mbam, and the Edda Local Government Area Coordinator, Dick Agwu Dike, both pledged their commitment to highlighting the achievements of the current administration.
They vowed to mobilize grassroots support across all wards to ensure a total victory for President Tinubu, Governor Nwifuru, and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
