CCPT Prevents Multichoice From Raising Subscription Fee

The Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCPT) in Abuja has issued a ruling preventing MultiChoice Nigeria Limited from implementing its proposed price increases for DStv and GOtv services.

The interim order, granted by a tribunal led by Saratu Shafii, came as a result of an ex-parte motion presented by Ejiro Awaritoma, the legal representative of Festus Onifade, the applicant.

The ruling effectively halts MultiChoice’s planned price hikes and ensures that the current subscription fees will remain in place beyond May 1st.
