One African Democratic Congress (ADC) has begun a reconciliation process in Ekiti State aimed at resolving internal grievances and strengthening party unity ahead of the 2027 general election.

As part of the initiative, the National Director of Change Program for One ADC Movement, Prof. Olumuyiwa Babalola, has been appointed to lead the reconciliation effort and coordinate the establishment of a High-Powered Ekiti State Peace, Reconciliation and Strategic Mobilization Committee.

According to a statement issued by the movement on Wednesday, the exercise is part of a broader strategy to foster unity within the party, rebuild confidence among members, and reposition the Ekiti chapter for future political engagements.

Prof. Babalola, a Professor of Peace and Conflict Resolution, international development expert, and humanitarian practitioner, said his appointment reflects the confidence reposed in him by the leadership of the movement.

He pledged to carry out the assignment with fairness, transparency, inclusiveness, and sincere dialogue, stressing that unity remains the foundation of any successful political organisation.

According to him, the reconciliation process is not intended to take sides but to address misunderstandings, rebuild trust, and unite party members in preparation for future elections.

Professor Babalola disclosed that the committee would immediately begin consultations with party leaders, elders, aspirants, youths, women, local government executives, ward coordinators, and other stakeholders across Ekiti State.

He said the committee would also organise confidence-building meetings, conflict resolution sessions, grassroots consultations, and strategic mobilisation programmes aimed at strengthening party structures and encouraging wider participation.

“Our objective is to reunite our political family, resolve legitimate concerns through dialogue, strengthen our structures from the ward level to the state level, and position the party for future electoral success,” he said.

He assured members that every stakeholder would be given a fair hearing, noting that justice, transparency, inclusiveness, and respect for internal democracy would guide the committee’s work.

The Professor also described the reconciliation exercise as part of a wider nationwide membership reawakening campaign designed to revitalise party structures, attract new members, and deepen grassroots participation across the country.

He appealed to aggrieved members to embrace reconciliation and place the collective interest of the party above personal differences, expressing confidence that a united ADC would be better positioned for future political contests.

The movement added that the full membership and terms of reference of the High-Powered Ekiti State Peace, Reconciliation and Strategic Mobilization Committee will be announced in the coming days.
