The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has commended Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) for his outstanding performance, urging lawmakers and party members to support his re-election campaign.
Aribasoye made the remarks on Thursday at the Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti, where Governor Oyebanji received his Expression of Interest and Nomination Form from the global leadership of the Ekiti State University Alumni Association Solidarity Group. The alumni had earlier purchased the forms for the governor at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, a gesture widely described as unique.
Describing Governor Oyebanji as a man of vision and strategic thinking, Aribasoye said the governor has won the hearts of both politicians and the public through his integrity and approachable demeanor. He noted that multiple groups attempting to purchase the forms simultaneously reflects the high regard in which Oyebanji is held by the populace.
“The excellent performance and delivery of the governor in critical sectors have given him an edge in the current Ekiti political space,” Aribasoye said.
The Speaker also described Oyebanji as a “marketable political product” and urged APC members to intensify their campaign efforts to ensure continuity and electoral success for the governor.
Governor Oyebanji, in his speech, vowed to resist attempts by certain political actors to destabilize the party, emphasizing that their ambitions were not aligned with the progress and unity of the state.
Dipo Bamisaye, Director-General of the EKSU Alumni Solidarity Group for BAO, explained that the purchase of the forms was in recognition of the governor’s achievements across all sectors in Ekiti State.
