A Chieftain of the APC, Otunba Femi Ayodele is taking his campaign for the House of Representatives seat in Ekiti South Federal Constituency I to the grassroots, presenting his record in public service as the foundation for effective representation.
A former Special Adviser to ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi and a two-time Chairman of Ikere Local Government, Otunba Ayodele says his years in government have prepared him for the demands of the National Assembly.
During recent engagements with party members and community leaders, he said the constituency needs a representative who understands governance and can translate experience into visible development.
“My experience will make the constituency develop,” he said, stressing that representation should bring real benefits to the people.
Ayodele pointed to his time at the local government level as a period that gave him direct access to the needs of the grassroots. He noted that during his two terms as chairman of Ikere Local Government, he ensured transparency in governance and remained accountable to the people. According to him, he consistently presented his scorecards while in office, a record he said residents can attest to.
He explained that this culture of openness and performance would be carried into his legislative duties if elected, particularly in attracting federal projects and interventions to the constituency.
He outlined major areas of focus, including infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, support for small and medium scale businesses, adding that Ekiti South Constituency I must not be left behind in the distribution of federal opportunities.
His campaign has continued to draw attention within political circles, with constituents noting that his administrative background and local connections could play a role in shaping the contest.
With consultations ongoing across the constituency, Otunba Ayodele insists his goal is simple, to offer representation that delivers results and brings government closer to the people.
