The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced an adjustment to its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 General Elections, earlier released by the party.
In a press release dated April 24, 2026, the opposition party said the changes affect the schedule previously unveiled at its national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Plot 1970, Michael Okpara Street, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
According to the statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the general public, party members and all relevant stakeholders have been advised to take note of the development and await further communication from the party.
The PDP stated that additional details regarding the revised timetable would be made available in due course.
Before the latest adjustment, the party’s original schedule outlined a series of activities beginning with the submission of the party register to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, followed by a letter to INEC for party primaries on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
The earlier timetable also fixed the sale of nomination forms from Monday, April 27 to Monday, May 4, 2026, while the last day for submission of completed forms was Saturday, May 9, 2026.
Under the initial programme, screening of aspirants for state assemblies and national assemblies was slated for Monday, May 11, 2026, while governorship and presidential aspirants were to be screened on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Appeals arising from the screening exercise for state and national assemblies were earlier scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026, while appeals for governorship and presidential aspirants were fixed for Thursday, May 14, 2026.
The party had also scheduled its House of Representatives primaries for Sunday, May 17, 2026, Senate primaries for Wednesday, May 20, 2026, and State House of Assembly primaries for Friday, May 22, 2026.
Governorship primaries were initially billed for Sunday, May 24, 2026, while the presidential primary was scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2026. All appeals were to be concluded on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
The original timetable also contained the approved fees for nomination forms. House of Assembly aspirants were to pay ₦3 million, comprising ₦1 million for expression of interest and ₦2 million for nomination. House of Representatives aspirants were to pay ₦4 million, while Senate aspirants were to pay ₦6 million.
Governorship aspirants were earlier required to pay ₦21 million, made up of ₦1 million expression of interest fee and ₦20 million nomination fee, while presidential aspirants were expected to pay ₦51 million, including ₦1 million expression of interest fee and ₦50 million nomination fee.
The party had also announced that female aspirants would pay only the expression of interest fees for each elective position.
The earlier timetable was signed by the National Organising Secretary, Hon. Umar M. Bature.
