Ikere born and a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Henrich Akomolafe, has congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji following the Federal High Court judgment reaffirming them as the party’s candidate for the 2026 Ekiti governorship election.
Akomolafe, in a statement issued on Wednesday, described the court’s decision as a welcome development that has finally put to rest the legal uncertainties surrounding the APC primary. He noted that the ruling has further strengthened the legitimacy of the party’s candidate and provided a clear direction for members ahead of the election.
He said the judgment should be seen as a victory not just for the governor, but for the entire APC family in Ekiti State, stressing that it reaffirms confidence in the rule of law and the party’s internal democratic process.
The APC stalwart, however, used the opportunity to appeal to aggrieved members and aspirants within the party to sheath their swords and embrace reconciliation. According to him, disagreements are natural in the course of political contests, but unity remains the most important factor for success in the coming election.
Engr. Akomolafe urged all stakeholders to close ranks and work together in the overall interest of Ekiti State, emphasizing that the party must move forward as one united front. He added that the focus should now shift from internal issues to delivering good governance and ensuring victory for the APC in 2026.
He further called on party leaders at all levels to intensify efforts at reconciliation and inclusion, noting that every member has a role to play in strengthening the party and sustaining development across the state.
While congratulating Governor Oyebanji once again, Akomolafe expressed confidence that a united APC would not only win the forthcoming governorship election but also continue to deliver meaningful progress for the people of Ekiti State.
