As the Premier League season reaches its climax, Arsenal’s title hopes remain firmly alive. The Gunners will take on Everton on the final day, with Manchester City’s midweek victory over Tottenham leaving them within touching distance of a fourth consecutive league crown.
However, Arsenal will be ready to pounce should Pep Guardiola’s side slip up at home to West Ham United. Mikel Arteta has a fully fit squad to choose from as they seek to end an exceptional campaign in style.
Both Bukayo Saka and Takehiro Tomiyasu were fitness doubts heading into last weekend’s clash with Manchester United, but both were named in the starting XI as Arteta kept an unchanged side. Saka did come off late on following an injury scare, but Arteta has since allayed any concerns, stating the England international “is going to be fine.”
Elsewhere, Jurrien Timber will be hoping to make his return to the first team after recovering from the ACL injury he suffered on the opening day of the season. The Dutch defender played twice for the Under-21s in late April and will be eager to feature in the final game.
Arteta is set to provide the latest team news in his pre-match press conference on Friday. Arsenal’s predicted lineup sees a familiar face in goal, with David Raya expected to continue between the sticks. The defensive unit of Gabriel Magalhães, Tomiyasu, Saliba and White is likely to remain unchanged, with Odegaard, Rice and Partey forming the midfield trio.
Up front, Trossard, Havertz and Saka are set to lead the line for the Gunners, who will be determined to end the season on a high and keep their title hopes alive until the final whistle.
Everton, meanwhile, will be looking to upset the apple cart and secure their own top-flight status, with Sean Dyche’s side predicted to line up with Jordan Pickford, Seamus Coleman, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Ashley Young in defense.
The match is set to kick off at 4pm BST on Sunday and will be broadcast live on TNT Sports.
