Breaking: Ex-president hit by drunk driver

South Africa’s former President Jacob Zuma was involved in a car accident, but fortunately, he was unharmed. The incident occurred when a drunk driver collided with his “official armoured state vehicle” on Thursday evening, according to the police.

However, a prominent member of Zuma’s uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) party claimed that the crash was a deliberate act of targeting. It’s worth mentioning that Zuma has been suspended by the ruling African National Congress (ANC) and is currently campaigning for the MK party in preparation for the upcoming general election in May.

The collision took place on a road in Zuma’s home province of KwaZulu-Natal at approximately 6:40 PM local time. Fortunately, neither Zuma nor any members of his Presidential Protection Services were injured. Following the accident, Zuma was safely evacuated and transported to his residence, as stated in a concise police announcement.

Law enforcement has since arrested a 51-year-old man on charges of drunken driving, as well as reckless and negligent driving.
