Wunmi, the wife of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has taken to social media to express her concerns over death threats she and her son, Liam, have been receiving. Since Mohbad’s death, there has been a dispute between Wunmi and Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, regarding a request for a DNA test.
During an Instagram live session, Wunmi claimed that she had been threatened by certain individuals who intended to harm her and kidnap Liam during the inquest. She appealed to Nigerians for help, stating that she was too young to endure the troubles she was facing but was not afraid of death.
Wunmi revealed that curses had been directed towards her son, with people suggesting that Liam would not live to see his first birthday. She compared her situation to Mohbad’s, stating that he had also faced similar challenges but received no assistance. Wunmi vowed to fight for Liam’s well-being, even if it meant risking her own life.
Addressing the DNA controversy, Wunmi explained that Joseph had refused to provide a court order for the test, as he was enjoying the attention he was receiving following Mohbad’s death. She accused Joseph of viewing Liam as competition and using his son’s death to generate online income. Wunmi expressed her disappointment that Joseph had joined those who had bullied Mohbad, contributing to his untimely demise.
Wunmi pleaded with Joseph to obtain a court order for the DNA test, emphasizing that she could not entrust Liam’s safety to a father who had participated in cyberbullying against her. She implored other mothers to consider whether they would feel secure entrusting their children to a father involved in such behavior. Wunmi believed that Joseph was motivated by a desire to claim Mohbad’s property, even if it meant removing her and Liam from the picture.
In her plea for help, Wunmi urged people not to let Liam suffer the same fate as Mohbad, even if it meant sacrificing her own life. She called on mothers around the world to support her in her fight for justice.
