Chelsea Set to Appoint New Manager After Agreeing Personal Terms

Chelsea are expected to name Enzo Maresca as their new manager after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the 44-year-old Leicester City boss.

The Blues parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino following a disappointing campaign, and they are now closing in on Maresca’s appointment, as reported by HITC. Chelsea are currently negotiating the compensation package with Leicester City to secure the services of the Italian manager.

Maresca has impressed with his work at Leicester, guiding the Foxes back to the Premier League this season. His successful stint in the Championship has convinced Chelsea that he is the right candidate to take the club forward.

According to the reports, Maresca has already agreed on personal terms with Chelsea, but there are conflicting claims about the length of his contract. Fabrizio Romano suggests Maresca will sign a two-year deal with an option for a further year, while David Ornstein has revealed it will be a five-year contract.

The compensation fee for Maresca and his staff is yet to be finalized between the two clubs, but Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Italian has already informed Leicester City of his desire to join Chelsea.

The 44-year-old manager will be facing a significant challenge at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea spent heavily last summer to bring in exciting talents like Moises Caicedo, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke, who have yet to make a consistent impact. Maresca will be expected to get the best out of these players and deliver trophies and Champions League qualification next season.

Meanwhile, Leicester City will be disappointed to lose their talented young manager, who successfully guided them back to the Premier League. The Foxes will now need to find a suitable replacement to lead the team in the top flight next season.
