The event, originally scheduled for May 30-31, 2024, has been postponed due to a presidential directive for a comprehensive review of the membership of these governing councils, as conveyed in a State House press release dated May 23, 2024.

The Ministry expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this postponement and stated that further updates will be provided in due course. They thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation.

The governing councils play a crucial role in providing oversight and strategic direction for Nigeria’s federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. The postponement of this inauguration and retreat suggests the government is taking a closer look at the composition of these important institutional bodies.
