In a rare spiritual move to complement national efforts toward food security, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS) has declared a series of prayer and fasting sessions throughout June 2025.
An internal circular issued by the Director of Human Resource Management, Mrs. Adedayo Modupe O., called on all staff—including Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, and Value Chain Desk Officers—to participate in a solemn prayer session under the theme: “Divine Intervention for Protection and National Development.”
The prayer session is scheduled to take place at Conference Hall “B”, FMAFS Headquarters, Area 11, Garki, Abuja. It will hold from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. promptly.
In addition, all staff have been requested to observe fasting on Mondays 16th, 23rd, and 30th of June 2025.
The ministry says the spiritual exercise aims to seek God’s guidance and support in ensuring the success of the government’s initiatives to enhance food security and national development.
This move reflects a blend of administrative action and faith-based intervention amid growing concerns over food sustainability and agricultural productivity in Nigeria.
