The Federal Ministry of Education has directed all Rectors of Federal Polytechnics across the country to comply with the mandatory registration on the VitalReg platform as instructed by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. This directive was contained in a circular dated July 23, 2025, and signed by Mrs. O.J. Anigbogu, Director of Educational Planning, Research and Development, on behalf of the Honourable Minister.

The circular referenced Ref. No. 58775/11/345, underscored the importance of integrating and utilizing the electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (e-CRVS) system across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The e-CRVS system is operated through the National Population Commission’s (NPC) Vital Registration Portal, aimed at strengthening national data systems and ensuring accurate civil registration processes.
According to the ministry, compliance with this directive is part of a broader strategy to standardize and modernize data management across government institutions, ensuring that all federal polytechnics align with national digital transformation initiatives. The directive emphasizes that compliance is not optional and must be achieved before Friday, July 31, 2025.
To support implementation, the ministry advised polytechnics to contact the National Population Commission’s technical partner, VITALREG, for assistance. Institutions are encouraged to reach out via email at vitalregsupport@nationalpopulation.gov.ng or call +2348161750049 for any technical support or inquiries related to the registration process.
The Honourable Minister, through the circular, extended warm regards to all institutions and expressed confidence in their full cooperation and timely compliance.
This development marks a significant step in the federal government’s effort to digitize and centralize critical national records, enhance service delivery, and reinforce transparency and accountability in public administration.
