Prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the 2026 election in Ekiti State, Otunba Peter Obafemi, has heartily congratulated another political leader and astute administrator, former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, on his 74th birthday.

According to a statement signed by Otunba Olugbenga Peter Obafemi (OPO) Media Vanguard and made available to journalists on Monday, Obafemi described Okuku, Osun State-born Prince Oyinlola, as a courageous and dependable leader both in good and challenging times.

He said the Prince is also a motivation for all young people struggling for breakthroughs in life.

He stressed that the former governor’s “birth, upbringing and achievements in life, despite losing his parents at a very young age, were a lesson and, indeed, a motivation, to all young people out there struggling for a breakthrough, that everything is possible.”

Obafemi said that while celebrating the fortunes of Prince Oyinlola, “it is pertinent to state that he created the future he is enjoying today through a dint of hard work, persistence and consistency which are worthy of emulation.

“This great man of countless good parts has always lived a life of service to humanity, including in his days as a gallant soldier in the Nigeria Army. He served meritoriously and never missed any promotional cycle until he retired in 1999 as a well got decorated Brigadier General.

“As the Executive Governor of Osun State, Prince Oyinlola performed excellently well in virtually every sector of the state economy. His landmark achievements cannot be denied.

“I appreciate your efforts in growing and sustaining our great party, the PDP, not only in the Southern region but also in the entire country.

“Your Excellency, I urge you to use the occasion of your birthday to rededicate your life to the success of our great party, PDP, as the party is preparing for its repositioning and rebranding ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“On behalf of my family and, by extension, my campaign organization, I join your household, members of the Oyinlola family, and millions of well-wishers across the whole world to celebrate your birthday anniversary.
