Odo Ode Youth Forum Continues Support for Ekiti Community with Another Round of Palliatives

The Odo Ode Youth, Afao Ekiti, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, also known as the Odo Youth Forum, in their usual way on Saturday, shared another round of palliatives to elderly women and the less privileged in the community.

The palliatives, which comprised two bags of rice and two bags of garri, were donated by a supporter of the forum who wished to remain anonymous.

It will be recalled that in January 2024, the forum distributed palliatives to cushion the effects of hardship among residents to mark the new year.

Speaking during the distribution, the leader of Odo Ode youth forum Afao Ekiti, Omolayo Ali, thanked the donor, and prayed that God would continue to guide and provide the donor. Warafanuhu Monkana Aliya.

The leader also used the occasion to call on the community’s well-off leaders to remember their roots and help the elderly and less privileged at home.

He also called for unity among Odo Ode youth and Afao Ekiti in general.

Some of the beneficiaries of the gesture, Madam Ajoke and Mr. Ojo Anjorin thanked the donor and prayed for God’s protection over the donor.

Mrs Ajoke also advised the forum to make such gestures quarterly to help the community during this period of hardship.

The Secretary of the forum, Mr. Adesuyi Michael, also thanked the donor and announced that the master class of palliatives would happen in December 2024, God willing. He emphasized that more donors would be reached to make the event a five-star occasion.

Upcoming Events

In addition to the December palliative distribution, the Odo Youth Forum has planned several other events to support the community:

Health Outreach Program (September 2024): A free medical camp offering health check-ups, vaccinations, and consultations will be organized for residents.

Educational Scholarship Awards (November 2024): Scholarships will be awarded to deserving students from underprivileged backgrounds to support their education.

Annual Cultural Festival (October 2024) Afao Day: A celebration of the community’s rich cultural heritage, featuring traditional music, dance, and food.

Entrepreneurship Workshop (January 2025): A workshop aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs with skills and resources to start and grow their businesses.

These events reflect the forum’s ongoing commitment to the welfare and development of the community.
