The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for the November 16th election in Ondo State, H.E. Agboola Ajayi, has returned to Nigeria after a successful one-week interactive visit to the United Kingdom.
Ajayi, who is the former deputy governor of Ondo State, left for the UK last Monday accompanied by Dr. Tayo Dairo, the Chairman of the Ondo PDP Elders Council, and others. During his time in the UK, Ajayi was hosted to an all-encompassing Zoom meeting that included many Ondo indigenes in America and parts of Europe. He also attended a meeting organized in his honor by Ondo State indigenes in London last Sunday.
The visit allowed Ajayi to present his blueprint for the state to the diaspora community, detailing his plans to revive the state’s economy, provide quality education, improve security, develop sports, and create youth empowerment programs, among other priorities.
Gbenga Akinmoyo, speaking on behalf of the UK audience, expressed elation over what he described as Ajayi’s “robust, sincere and comprehensive rescue blueprint” for the state. The Ondo indigenes in the UK registered their optimism in Ajayi’s ability to redirect the state back on the right path, which they believe has been veered off due to the failure of the ruling party to provide effective leadership.
Prof. Gold Emmanuel, the Senior Special Assistant to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, also declared her support for Ajayi’s candidacy, saying she is pleased with the PDP candidate’s plans for the state. Another participant, Awoyo Damilola Desmond, expressed his happiness with Ajayi’s blueprint and promised to support him fully.
Mrs. Omolola Williams, joining from the United States, said she is ready to travel to Ondo State from her base to ensure the PDP’s victory in the upcoming election, citing the life-changing programs Ajayi is bringing to the state.
The successful UK visit and the overwhelming support from the diaspora community have further bolstered Ajayi’s campaign as he seeks to unseat the ruling party in the November 16th gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
