Ekiti State Police Command has recently become aware of a video that is currently circulating on social media platforms.
The video pertains to an incident involving Pastor Ade Abraham of Christ High Commission Ministry, who allegedly charged members of his church a significant sum of three hundred and ten thousand naira (₦310,000:00) each, claiming that it would enable them to be transported to heaven.
Additionally, it was reported that the pastor persuaded his followers to relocate to a camp in Ekiti State, purportedly to prepare them for the impending rapture.
However, the Ekiti State Police Command would like to clarify that while the information contained in the video is not entirely false, it is outdated. The incident in question occurred over two years ago, precisely in April 2022.
The Command urges members of the public to exercise caution and give less or no attention to this resurfacing video. It is important to note that after receiving a complaint from some of the church members on April 27th, 2022, the Command took immediate action by inviting the accused pastor for questioning. Following a thorough investigation, the pastor was subsequently prosecuted in accordance with the law.
