Oyo LG Polls: Makinde Expresses Confidence In OYSIEC

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed confidence in the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) for successfully conducting a local council election that he considers to be as credible as those organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Governor Makinde shared his satisfaction with the election process after casting his vote at Ward 11 Unit 1 Abayomi Iwo Road, Ibadan North East in Ibadan.

Governor Makinde, who exercised his franchise at 09:58 am, described the election as peaceful and on par with INEC standards. He emphasized that his administration has achieved success in conducting a second peaceful local council election, and he welcomed any challenges to the election results.

Governor Makinde urged citizens to come out and vote, emphasizing that their participation is crucial for the true development of local councils in Nigeria. Speaking to journalists after casting his vote, he challenged people to compare the current election with those organized by INEC.

He assured the public that any concerns or issues regarding the election should be reported to the authorities, who will address them accordingly.

Governor Makinde highlighted that prior to his administration, caretaker administrations were in place without the people having a say in choosing their leaders. He expressed his commitment to ensuring that citizens have a voice in governance.
