On Sunday, October 5, 2024, during a special Independence Day church service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye reinforced the heartfelt message delivered by his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye.
He urged Nigerians to dedicate themselves to praying for their leaders and the future of the nation, emphasizing the importance of unity and divine guidance.
Pastor Adeboye expressed gratitude for the presence of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his cabinet at the service. He echoed his wife’s plea for prayers for President Bola Tinubu, highlighting the need for collective support for those in authority.
In his sermon titled **”Divine Wisdom,”** Pastor Adeboye emphasized the importance of seeking God’s guidance in all aspects of life. “Let us not destroy our nation,” he said, aligning with Pastor Folu’s call for healing across Nigeria and particularly for Lagos State. He encouraged the congregation to seek God’s mercy and pardon, stressing that divine intervention is essential for overcoming the challenges facing the nation.
Referencing biblical passages such as Ezekiel 22:30, 2 Chronicles 7, Isaiah, and Matthew 7:24-27, which speaks of the wise man who builds his house on the rock, Pastor Adeboye underscored the importance of building a strong foundation through faith and obedience to God’s word. He voiced a strong desire for transformative change in Nigeria, declaring, “No more dryness in our economy.”
Pastor Adeboye also shared a powerful testimony from a recent wedding ceremony, where a man collapsed while signing the marriage register. Remarkably, the man regained consciousness only after praises were offered to God. This incident underscored his belief that when prayer fails, one should try praise, highlighting the transformative power of worship.
Additionally, he took a moment to pray for students, asking for God’s wisdom and guidance in their studies and future endeavors.
In a moment of worship, he joined his wife in singing “E fin fun ohun lo ni e o,” inspiring the congregation to unite in prayer for national renewal. Pastor Adeboye’s reiteration of his wife’s message served as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility of Nigerians to uphold their country in faith and action.
