Renowned social activist Reno Omokri is encouraging Nigerians to consider converting their dollars into naira in advance of the commencement of operations at the Dangote refinery. Omokri predicts that the Nigerian currency will experience a substantial increase in value against the US dollar once the refinery becomes operational.

The Dangote refinery is expected to eliminate the need for fuel imports in Nigeria by providing the nation’s petroleum product requirements, including Premium Motor Spirit, Diesel, and Aviation Jet A1 fuel. This development has led Omokri to anticipate a potential surge in the value of the Naira.

In a recent social media post, the former presidential aide advised against underestimating the Naira’s potential and emphasized the refinery’s imminent impact on the market. He suggested that delaying the conversion of dollars to naira could result in missed opportunities for financial gain.

Omokri’s advice comes at a time when reports have emerged of the Dangote Refinery’s initial supply of diesel to the Nigerian market. Local oil marketers have begun setting prices, with diesel being priced at N1,225 ($0.96) per litre after securing bulk purchase agreements.
