The All Progressives Congress (APC) has generated a total of N720 million through the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for the party’s Ondo governorship ticket. As of the deadline on April 3, sixteen aspirants had obtained the forms in preparation for the party’s governorship primary election scheduled for April 20, which will determine the APC flag bearer for the November 2024 Ondo State Governorship Election.
Out of the sixteen aspirants, fourteen were male and two were female. The male aspirants paid N50 million each for the forms, while the female contenders and persons living with disabilities were exempted from the N40 million nomination fees and only paid N10 million for the expression of interest form.
Among the aspirants who obtained the forms are Governor Lucky Ayiedatiwa, Olusoji Adewale Ehinlanwo, Hon. Okunjimi Odimayo John, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, and APC National Vice Chairman (South West) Duerimini Isaacs Kekemeke. The two female aspirants are Engr. Funmilayo Mary Adekojo and Engr. (Mrs.) Funke Omogoroye Folakemi Judith.
All aspirants must submit their completed forms to the Directorate of Organisation by Friday, April 5. Additionally, the revalidation of the membership register is currently underway in the 18 local government areas of the state in preparation for the local government congress.
